From the Secretary's desk
There is no club. There's me, and a pattern.
My name is Alex. I live in Boulder, Colorado. I'm a mechanical engineer and product developer, and I've spent my life on running, mountaineering, bikes and the occasional bit of ice climbing before work.
I fell for the sauna at University College Dublin, going every day after training. Now I go at a gym in Boulder. American gyms expect you to wear something in there, and what most of us wear is what we just worked out in. I think that's bad manners in a small room.
Some people want a cold pack in there too. It's a slightly absurd thing to want, and I tried it. The room won. So I drafted a short: linen outside, cotton inside, and a pocket that puts the insulation on the side facing the room.
I can't tell you it does anything for you except feel cold. I can tell you exactly how it's built, I'll publish the numbers before the first batch ships, and I'll only ask for money when there's a real date to put next to it.
If you're in a room with a dress code, I'd like to dress you properly. If you think this is ridiculous, you're right, and you're welcome to the House Rules anyway.

Why Rule 0 is Rule 0.
I helped leave a scroll of 28 "laws of man" with younger scholars, written with one foot in the absurd and one foot in the real. Law Zero was the one that stuck. You've read the situation. You know what you're doing. Proceed accordingly. It also turns out to be a sound policy for sauna shorts.
